REQUIEM Poem by André Schmitz

REQUIEM

The birds are switched off
but the lamps are still awake.

Children be calm
the shower won't hiss
your lodging won't be a gas chamber.

Sleep requiem to you good night!
from now on your guardians will be angels
Herod and the Corporal are on leave.

The birds somewhere love you.
