Reservation
Gajanan Mishra
At the cost of
The nation-
Reservation.
I am a human
By nature.
Some people
Declared
I am brahmin.
They added
I born in
Brahmi family.
I am a human
By nature.
At the age of six
I went to school to
Learn reading
And writing.
Some other people
Declared
I am Hindu
By religion,
I know not
What is that for.
After graduation,
I faced interviews
For officer in
Administration.
And also passed
Successfully in
Top ranks.
They congratulate me,
But given low scale
Or say second class.
Reason stated -
You are not coming under
Scheduled caste or tribe.
Candidates passed on far
Low ranks awarded with
First class officer.
I was hurt and
I rejected the offer.
I know perfectly well
I was/am not in fault.
At this old age,
I went to a temple
To pray God.
But in front of the temple,
Non-hindus not allowed
Written in a board.
In love, in prayer,
In living, in mercy,
I know a human heart,
Not anything else.
Where is
Non Reservation
Zone,
I want to go there.
I want to stay
On this earth
Under the skies
And the stars.
I want to go
Far away from
All reservations.
I want to live
With nature
With honour.
