Rest In Peace Poem by tanesha davenport

Rest In Peace

Saturday passes another day has gone
Just two more day that she’s been left alone
The silence creeps in her skin driving her insane
Losing herself in the sadness she’s trying to drain
Memories of her she can not erase
She tries to forget, trying to replace
She hates herself for never saying goodbye
She tries to talk to god and ask him why?
Why did she have to go away?
But he never have much to say
She stares at a picture tracing her face
She closes her eyes trying to find another place
But all she can see are the flowers placed neatly on the ground
She tries to scream I love you, please come back, but she doesn’t make a sound
She bends down and try to get one last touch
She wants to be held by her again she misses her so much
She wants to give her one last kiss
But seeing her laying there just makes her reminisce
Of times when they was together
She sheds a tear, remembering when she said she’d live forever
She has to walk away the pain is too much for her to take
If she stayed there one more second her heart may break
Trying keep herself together but she’s falling apart
Slowly learning band aids cant fix a broken heart
Tears flood her face knowing that there will never be another
She can meet a million girls, but she’ll only have one mother
