Restless Poem by Adrian Taheny

Restless

Dark clouds move menacingly across my sky
As I gaze skyward to my heavenly home.
Trees shiver, unclothed on this dark night
And I can’t find sleep in an active mind.

The moon torches its way through the moving mist
Then no light and little sound other than
The hum of traffic in the dead of night.

How many more souls seek sleep tonight.
How many more look out on my vista
Alone. With no rest.
