Restless Poem by Tracy Craighead

Restless

Rating: 3.5

I'm uneasy in this body of mine
and somehow I don't fit in,
wanting a destination, with no place to go
restless in my sleep and absent in my dreams
trying to meet me, but afraid of the introduction
What to do and where to go?
Oh, hell…I really don't know!
I dream of driving so far away,
just leaving, early in the morning…some day
In love with the fantasies of taking flight,
and walking through a different city every night.
Looking for inspiration in changing scenery,
deserts evolving into mountains and streams,
more than likely I would find myself in a bar
My hand clutching a drink….
chatting with strangers, never going too deep
and moving along to another tavern
another town…another street.

A beautiful picture of a restless mind.
