Resurrection Sunday Poem by Judith Vaddi

Resurrection Sunday

I stand accused
Torn, tormented, cast aside
Alone, rejected,
Disavowed.
Sans honour, sans hope,
Stains embedded deep
Now and only this,
Desolation, Eternal, Bleak.

And yet
Heaven's arms open wide
A declaration
It is finished! The price is paid..
Ridiculed; Nay, no more
Restored; Forever more
Saviour God, Son of Man
That would declare
Guilty? No more! No more…
