Retrospectively! Retrograde Poem by Gunde Narsing Rao

This was a poetic response to news reports when I read and saw regarding the Govt. of the view that to amend tax laws to collect taxes from retrospective effect that too against the Supreme Court verdict in a Global Telecom Major case. I Feel that the decision of the past taken by then govt./leaders(Politician) and Bureaucrats cannot be justified by the present context as every decision speaks of its current history and social context which was correct and justified then, But seeing 'then' context through 'present' context and trying to decide whether it was judicious or not may not stand for justification. The past miscalculations or intentional fallacies or even scrupulously let legal gaps for then 'persons' interests may not be corrected by present and cannot go into past than amending those 'Gaps' from now onwards. Any decision of the past; If allowed; what ever may have had effects; by a legitimate Legal and constitutional mechanism and even accepted till now as sacred Law, and practiced cannot be made 'unjustified' just because of it not fitting into the 'Present' frame work and may not stands for justification. Because it seems 'tricky' by emphasizing someway or other as it creeping into the past and 'Turning' into 'Present' by 'the Present' which not only Philosophically, Historically, Logically and even Scientifically possible though technically seems to be accepted through Legislature approval that by manually 'correcting' that too for 'the Present' purpose which is nothing but 'insulting ourselves' for allowing and practiced for decades till now if amended 'Retrospectively', which is far from reality that world accepts excepts having power to amend so and ordered as rule. It should be remembered that Laws should have a sense and logicality that can be accepted all over and practiced without hesitation for effective governance than just using as 'techniques' to suit 'peculiar' interests at the cost of people and Nations interests.
