Return Poem by Nina gáspari

Return

I find myself lost in a field
Thoughts flying around my head
Like dragonflies during a hot summer night
How can it possibly be?
I feel lost when I know I have finally found myself again
Re emerged from the dark sea of troubled thoughts
Uneasy attitudes that led me to battles that had to be fought
I try to lift my head grasping for air
Breathing is easy again, my heart is whole again
A tiny bit of a silly pain, which is okay
Things haven´t always been my way
Stones being thrown at the deep river
In a naïve attempt to challenge its depth
Words that came out of my mouth
That should have never been said
Not ashamed to be mistaken
I know life can´t be forsaken
Thinking of all that took place
In this fragile period of time
I am now feeling free
It´s funny and admirable
Cause I am back to normal
I am back to being the good old me
