Return Of The Glamorous Witch Poem by Justin Gildow

Return Of The Glamorous Witch

It's been a long time since I last saw you
But you sent me a letter
Telling me you want to see me again
And wanting to take me away on a journey
For at least a little while

And so
Just like last year
I wait for you
On top of the roof of my house
Bundled up in a warm cloak
Drinking a cup of hot chocolate

The leaves have fallen from the tree to the
ground once again
Just like last year
You visit me when Halloween's near

Looking at the full moon
I see your silhouette pass by the moon

Finishing off my hot chocolate and disposing
of the cup
I stand up and you gently lower your broom
down to the surface of the roof
You run towards me and we give each other
a big hug
Telling each other that we're happy to see
each other

After the hug
You ask me if I got your letter
I tell you I did
And that I'm looking forward to spending some
time with you

You smile happily
And you're excited to hear that I want to go
with you

Without wasting any time
You call me to board your broom
And I sit down on it right behind you
With you in front of me
You tell me to hold on tight
And you tell me it's going to be a wonderful
night

Holding on to your waist
You get the broom off of the roof
And we're now in the air
You tell me to relax and enjoy the ride
So I do
Knowing that I have all the confidence in
the world in you

With us a few feet up from my roof
You turn and smile to me
And then we're off
Off into the night
