Return Of The Spring Poem by Ugyen Gyalpo

Return Of The Spring

As I watched that leafless tree whitened to its bark
With this wintry brunt felt all the way to its trunk
A lonely pigeon still and frozen, sits atop on its weathered branch
With its closed meditative eyes and its beak sunk inside its puffy feathery neck
A lone pedestrian muffled absurdly to his vaporing mouth
At this moment frozen in time I thought
All that the tree, the pigeon and the man would wish for
Is the return of that balmy sunny spring
