Returned Desire. Poem by Bamukunda Hillary

Returned Desire.

.
You were the star he sent the moon for
You were the light he sent angles for
And behold you came with the sun
To burn all the gaps of loneliness
You came with the smiles to shut the gates of sorrow
Your beauty enlighted the awaiting soul
.
You were the dream he got a million times
Your presence meant fulfillment if the scriptures
You were all his pride
With you he would have nobody else
You were his future
You became part of those bricks
Those bricks that shinned in his life
.
You now run where you should walk
As he sees on crawling,
Why has the earth taken you so much?
He looks on to retire,
His desires have ruined him,
His pride has come back to him.
He doesn't seek mercy but life
You have not changed though
Still beautiful and pretty face runs his head
But that attitude has killed his soul
With no returned and needed desire
.
