Returning Poem by Melissa Joy Chesky

Returning

I’m returning
To you, Keeper of Life
I’m making my way
To you, to vengeance
I’m coming back
To you, to right the wrongs
Feel my wrath?
Get my point?
Hear the steps?
See the fury?
With a clear head
To you, I will exact revenge
Oh placid, serene revenge
Written on palm.
The look of awe
Will fill my thirst.
To you, I don’t need you to be in pain
To get on even ground.
