Revelatory Poem by Patrick Frazier

Revelatory

The glowing hand points
A long journey through darkened spheres
Old failures stitched and mended
Onward without fear

A flat hand for calming waters
A steady hand calling spirits forth
A fist confronting evil
And a handshake to heaven's ascension

Lights across graves
Several of the unsaved
Trapped within the trees

Broken statuary
And stone monoliths rising from the ground
Ghouls that ate their hearts and hands
Drooling mouths forming half curses

Our guide put a hand
On a man eating sand
To coerce the black out of his eyes

A sharp violin string sounds
Carried to us with a tidal emotional force
Pulling us forth
Our limbs strain and hands tremble

Now the cliff
Gazing into an abyss
Above the ages of man
Standing where Michael cast his strength to death
And an eternal light went out.
