Rhyme: Reach For Heaven Poem by Caryl Ramsdale

Rhyme: Reach For Heaven

When I was just a little girl
I dreamed of a faraway place;
Of knights in shining armor
And ladies in silk and lace.
They lived in a royal castle
Built on high land, atop a hill;
With a magnificent king,
That prayed and followed God's will.
One trench surrounded his castle,
It was filled with water and deep;
A big, thick, wooden drawbridge
Fell from rock wall that was steep.
Inside the walls, plants climbed and
Bloomed In a rich velvety array;
Adorning a vast courtyard
Where the king strolled everyday.
I dreamed I walked beside him once,
Through his lovely, well-kept garden;
He shared his peaceful heart with me,
Said, 'Do this, reach for heaven.'
