Rhyme: Theirs To Keep Poem by Caryl Ramsdale

Rhyme: Theirs To Keep

Rating: 5.0

To live now in this space in time,
Has made me the best I could be;
I didn't always do things right,
Didn't know what was best for me.
But I look over my shoulder,
Off and on like many folks do;
And when I see you standing there,
I'm especially proud of you.
You try to be all you can,
You live your life in your own way;
Now I know I did something right,
I saw you bow your head today.
And I saw Jesus in your eyes,
When you diciplined your small child;
Didn't like to scold you either,
Soft touches win hearts and I smiled.
Yesterday doesn't bother me much,
I know what I know way down deep;
I know love's what a child wants most,
Your I love you's are theirs to keep.

A lovely poem. I believe in disciplining a child myself with love mind you. Spiritsong
