Rings In The Ocean Poem by Emma Beverage

Rings In The Ocean

A small pink shell
on sun warmed sand,
struggles against the waves.
One leaf on a tree
flutters helpless
in the breeze.
Why the urgency?
Living or dying
is no splash in a puddle.
No rings in the ocean.
Why does my breast swell
with exaggerated importance?
