A TRIBUTE
A lad of only mediocrity
A man who slogged with much sincerity
He dreamed of India’s sole prosperity
And achieved unmatched popularity.

His heart had just stopped in mortality
He is now headed for eternity
Heart throb of India’s university
He lived and loved his birth in poverty

He always worked with great intensity
Nothing had ev’r slurred his integrity
He gave to earthly life a quality
And spoke to all with great alacrity

He wrote books, papers with much lucidity
And kept the Indian people’s amity
A president of such popularity
Comes upon earth as just a rarity

He developed his own capability
And enlarged by toil his capacity
He dreamed a lot amidst reality
Living a life of mere austerity

His spirit scours in immortality
A scientist of immense integrity
He kept himself above all polity
His aim was to live in simplicity

Beloved to children urban, in city
He showed his talents, ingenuity
He lived his life-time with dexterity
He is role-model for posterity

‘May his soul rest in peace! ’
