River Poem by Alex Lane

River

They've abandoned us
as I knew they would
done all you could
to keep me in the dark
the time is coming
when the heart
shall be pulled from the earth
to answer their questions
to show them what they fear worst

everything is duality
nothing is unity
our god is our master
the devil has always been ourselves
one is our nature
one is what sent us to hell

I've trespassed him
and I'll trespass you
If I have to
my need is far too strong
the end is coming
when the song
shall put the process in reverse
to cure all the cancers
to show you what we fear worst

It's just like the old books say
light up the night
darken the day
it's just the motions of the sun
as they appear to everyone

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This represents the feeling of being abandoned by your peers in the face of being enlightened or simply having a separate way of thinking that is ridiculed. It also lends to man's focus on miracles and apocalyptic signs.
