The Soul
Wants to say but can't find the words

The Heart
...

she appears to me
covered in blood
it's not hers
its the blood of others
...

I am not my job.
That is just a service I provide.
My job is to be a myth.
To be a shadow leaping from corner to corner.
...

All too soon you try to resume
The ways that made you brave
But life goes on and so does the song
That dances you to the grave
...

Subterfuge or sacrifice
Idle hands and the wounds of Christ
Bless my bones
Sanctify my suffering
...

Its taken far too long
And every life I made
Has broken up and gone
Down the river into the shade
...

And I feel I've nothing to say
Nothing is holding me back
The world has turned off its lights
The scenery welcomes the fade to black
...

A god is just a devil
Who has won his final battle
As history is written by winners
And the rest are seen as cattle
...

I would like to take you
Back in time
To a town
Where the reason was mine
...

Came off the highway
Went into the dust
It was hot
No one was looking for us
...

Where I belong
is the high note of the song
epiphanies of memories gone
The sound of drums
...

The perfect ending
the way I imagined it
the lovers lay down
the last piece slides in to fit
...

Everything that you made
is falling right back down
everyone that you have known
is jumping ship right now
...

The story starts in moonlight born
the son of the stars
the upcoming dawn
into lovers nest comes the greatest bless
...

The light is gone
the word is out
now is the time of the greatest doubt
down in these cells the prisoners shout
...

The longest lesson from the cruellest teacher can take anyone to the edge
And no-one ever comes to pull you back from that ledge
A leap of faith without any hope of return that each will take
I see those lucky souls jumping as the surface of the abyss breaks
...

On an evening destiny had set aside
I had left my heart open wide
when someone came and slammed it shut
it was then that I sealed it up
...

Between rice cultures and slackingdoms
their structures make the difference
whether slavery or servitude
could you tell me what it is
...

Seven swords above me
seven swords in my form
dangling from the ceiling
plunged into my feelings
...

Opened up to a whole new world
felt something for the perfect girl
these eyes wide
my attention high
...

Alex Lane Biography

I came from a small village and moved to the nearest big town in my adult life, I was bullied at school because I can't hide the fact I am different, for whatever reason my head has been filled with strange notions for as long as I can remember.)

The Best Poem Of Alex Lane

Four Parts

The Soul
Wants to say but can't find the words

The Heart
Can express it but it's far too over-bearing

The Mind
Can verbalise it but won't

The Body
Can now only express ambivalence

Damn it.
