Rock Mary was named for a lady
Who, so long ago
Was engaged to an officer
A man who loved her so

So charming was this lady
Many hearts she could have won
But she chose this handsome officer
She no longer had the desire to run

A romance blossomed between them
The two had plans to wed
When he left for a hunt one day
Her dreams soon had fled

For he was killed on this journey
The plans for their future were gone
But you know, I’m sure another man
Found that he too would belong

So Mary will live forever
In the Rock which took her name
Yes, the story of Mary will continue
‘Cause this tale brought her fame!
