Rocking Chair Poem by Von W. Muncrief

Rocking Chair

Rating: 3.5

He sits alone now
With no one to care,
Listening to the squeak
in that old rocking chair. With tears in his eyes
and a trembling chin,
He ponders in his mind
When the heart ache begins. Was it when Mama passed on
or maybe when the children left home,
He's nearly ninety and his legs are weak
So he sits and listens to that old rocking chair squeak.
