Rodando Poem by A. David Abraham

Rodando

Rating: 5.0

People's lives are circles

Intersecting, meeting
Then dispersing

Never to connect again

Still swirling in their orbits
Still moving to their own rhythms
Of their life

For one brief shining moment
We saw each other

Looked and then looked away

And resumed circling in our spheres

Still spinning
Still wondering who
And where we are

There is no tomorrow for us

Only today
Circling in our orbs

Wondering who we belong to
And where we are

The circles of life
Its encumbered dances move on

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is about a moment of connection with someone which seemed to blossom into love but with paths that are divergent and do not connect. Rodando means "swirling" in Portuguese which is what I felt our lives were like after we met - a going back to swirling in our own orbits.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Sandra Feldman 18 March 2018

Life is an eternal swirl, Of ups and downs And turn arounds. So well expressed n this poem. In poetic, picturesque frames that feel and move and make the reader know it.
