Rollercoaster Poem by Marion Perrotta

Rollercoaster

RollerCoaster

The tracks are calling out my name.
The silver cars are waiting
to tie me in and take me on
to a life I am creating.

I’m holding on at every height.
The wind is my companion.
I float and fly,
I dive and soar,
like eagles in a canyon.

The twists, the turns, the rise and fall,
at speed
I’ve never traveled.
Joy and fear wash over me
and I watch as life unravels.

What fun! What fear! What fury!
Oh I am in my glory.
From where I’m perched atop the track
I now can tell my story.

Looking up and looking back
onto the track
over my shoulder,
I realize
this crazy ride
has served to make me bolder.

Love and fear ride hand in hand.
The two I comprehend,
as I go rolling down the track
on a rollercoaster
that never ends.
