Romaine Poem by Aldo Kraas

Romaine

Every morning when you walk outside

During the winter

You never walk alone

You walk outside with my father

Every single day

Also you have to dress warm

So you don't catch a flu

Also during the winter is very cold outside

And the temperature changes every day

Also we don't have any sun during the winter

We only have grey sky

That puts us to sleep

And it also we yawn non stop

That is terrible

The days are shorter during the winter

And it gets dark at 5: 00 PM

Now you are very hungry

You are going to have a quick bite

You open you fridge

And get some cold cuts and cheese and bread

To make a fast a sandwiche

Now that you finished having something to eat

You are going right away to bed

Because you are exhausted

The night is long

And it was made to sleep

By my father

Romaine

Tomorrow is a new day

That will arrive early first thing in

The morning

I hope you will be up by the

First thing in the morning

The birds have migrated south

For the winter

And next spring the birds

Will return hone

And that will be the time we will see them
