Ruby Poem by Nick Moran

Ruby

Yesterday Ruby found three tears on the ground
she took them to the downtown lost and found
they gave her an manilla envelope to put them in
When she got home the postman had already been

letting a scream out of her window on Sunday
because she couldn't find the right words say
the sound changed its name to midnight blue
funny how a name can come back to you

waking tired from an unremembered dream
about a place that she has never been
she walked three days to Appledore
arriving realising she'd been there before
