Rude Awakening Poem by ERNEST CLARY

Rude Awakening

Hundreds of crows woke me today
as it goes
there I lay
just before eight no wait maybe nine
I was sleeping just fine
then I heard the noise
like a bunch
of girls and boys
looked out my window to see
all tense
there they were
on the tree
and fence
squawking hawking flying about
on my bird bath
trying it out
squeeking screeching
doing their deeds
seeking leaching
eating all the seeds
so if more rest I think I need
I'll wait till morning
to throw the seed
