Run Deep Do Roots Poem by Julian Takali

Run Deep Do Roots

A delight it sure be
To know you sleep soft
While my bones dance dry
In the chill of winter
As you know my dear
My flesh serves for us
For the bliss of summer

To our little ones; tell this bravely

You move mountains, you do so easy
My hands will always have yours
For always, you must not forget
A loving smile and a kind heart
Move those mountains like no army

Smother the world with your courage
Let it never be your conquerer
For behind you, for always will be
A hand beside to you from me
