Running Poem by Murasaki Hikari

Running

I step foot on the burning plate of earth
Flexing muscles in my calf
Bone, veins, flesh tense with each friction of air.

Blood rush in my ears
Heart pounded against the rib cage.
The rough concrete and dirt under my sole
Beating pulse of earth radiated into my veins.

One breath, two breath
I drew the air down my lungs.
Feeling it inflate and deflate with each breath
I gotta run. I gonna run.

Blurry vision and vague sounds floated around me.
The earth the air, the sky went still.
Everything stood, nothing seem to move.

Cause I am running.
It's really simple I am running.
I am just running.

Running ahead of everyone.
