POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Sable island is a tiny island 300 km off the coast of Nova Scotia, the island is roughly 40 km long but its widest point is 1.5. km, from plane picture it looks slightly like a worm.

There have been horses on the island for 300 years, possibly left overs when the British seized Arcadian property in the 7 year war. They have been left there for close to three centuries able to run free.
