Sacramental Ceremony Poem by Francisco R. Albano

Sacramental Ceremony

SACRAMENTAL CEREMONY

It is receding horizon to pursue
Offers otherland,
And over the fence the flowers
Of morning’s sifting.
But forget not the full moon
Already taken.

It is future and what is
For the doing
Explode bride and bridegroom
For this world’s gifting.
But forget not burst of stars
And glow of long ago.

It is the heart cares,
Promises flames of desire,
Light and warmth of love
For people’s lifting.
But forget not the sun
Risen before you, burning.

It is life prorogues ritual,
Opens one to illusion and reality,
To joy of struggle or drifting.
Still, prize earth in dance.
Affirm rehearsals of being.
