Sacrifice Poem by Ellen Rose Guilaran

Sacrifice

It is to the extreme that I said I would kill myself for you
That I'd burn myself for you
To go to hell for you
Ultimately, a willing sacrifice for you

But no, and that death I chose before
Is because I need suffering no more
This time, I'll live for this love undying
Traps causes pain and bleeding are worth trying

Because this time, I will love you but not chase
I will hope for the future but not haste
This time, I vow my loyalty and faith
To love and hate

Even at the worst times, I see the best in you
I just want you to love me like how I love you
But at my worst; who's to say I have an ally
When the speaking voice says I should die

The easiest way to end this life of mine
Is just to slip on the cliff
After the final wine and dine
But not leave a relationship with riff
