Sadlove Poem by Gary Excell

Sadlove

I love you more than summers sun,
Birds and bees, the horses that run,
More than the autumn leaves that fall,
More than the trees that grow so tall,
I love you more than the hills and mountains,
Small spring flowers and winters fountains,
The sea, the land, The sky so high,
But ask myself this question Why? ,
Why does man have to ruin all,
The pollution and smog that kills and falls,
All gods’’ creatures’ small and great,
That man has truly set their fate,
Once this land so green and bright,
Now full of fear and death and blight,
I ask myself this question Why? ,
Oh please tell me before I die,
My love for you now seems to be,
All that matters between you and me,
Nature’s scenery long since gone,
Oh pray tell me, where did man go so wrong....
