The Following Shadow Poem by Gary Excell

The tidal thoughts of all my life gone by, 
The friends I had, the truth and the lies, 
O'what a dream I once did see, 
To find true love for eternity, 
The devils own did watch me sleep, 
To tear apart the dreams I keep,
And now I ponder where shall I roam, 
This darkening life, no sunshine just gloom,
My heart now heavy from the ones I knew, 
All left, departed to pastures new,
I hope one day I find a true light, 
Before my soul withers from the night, 
To keep and be honest, and be at my side,
And give me one last ever longing ride,
I’ve set the time and place to pass, 
I’ve given hope to one last chance, 
So here’s to the future with one heavy sigh, 
To find true love, before days pass me by, 
Thanks to all I’ve known each day,
And here’s to the Future, my love in every way.
