Safe And Sound Poem by Jodie Hall

Safe And Sound

Who do you think you are
Flying round burning hearts
Leaving skin deep scars
Smashing life apart
You create a hole
Deep within my soul
Don't you speak to me, don't you talk at all
Voices blasting all around
Yet you are nowhere to be found
You have it wrong
I forget about your charms
You made me live an awful life
Now that was such a crime
Shut up, shut up
I will not hear your voice
Even if I do not have a choice
With you I will feel no fear
Shout out, shout out
And you will hear no cries
I can finally sleep
You don't understand that I can shout out loud and say
Shut up, shut up
You don't run my life
I am stronger than I've ever been
And you are no more in my dreams
