Safer Poem by Newo Enec

Safer

I feel the fire lick my skin
And I corrode
It blackened a hole straight through me
And it widens, ashes of what once was flesh fall throughme
I thought you would recognize
How much of my soul has been eaten away
But I forget sometimes
You get lucky with reading me
And I forget that no matter how loud
This storm rages within me
My thoughts are still safer on the inside
