Safety Is Cancelled Poem by Abraham Onoja

Safety Is Cancelled

Where is it safe to be female?

In temples?
no
In the market?
no
In the church?
no
In schools
no
At home?
no
In the mosque?
no
At work?
no
At the neighbors?
no

In Parks?
no
In Court?
no

Nowhere. Not here. Not there. She trudges through life carrying the burden of her body.
