Safety Net Poem by Manager Poet

Some of us fly through life with the greatest of ease.
Look at the amazing men and women on life's trapeze.
In this journey through life, do you require a safety net?
Some feel the need for a net to minimize a relationship regret.

Ah, the net provides us safety and why not be safe for heaven’s sake.
It can assist us in avoiding the cost of a simple relationship mistake?
If my first choice doesn't come through, perhaps he or she will do.
Is this the type of relationship net that is commonly used by you?

I never thought of myself as being someone’s consolation prize.
If things don't work out I’m told, she most certainly will apprise.
One more line and the manager poet is certainly through.
Being the first runner up in a relationship simply won't do.
