Said The Sultan Of Mysore Poem by Kevin Patrick

Said The Sultan Of Mysore

Rating: 5.0

Tipu, Sultan of Mysore once said
Better to live one day as a tiger
than a thousand years as a sheep
But I'll compromise on the swagger

I would rather live 100 years as giraffe
and careen my neck to the tallest trees
then starving with a tigers stomach
or overwrought in sheeps sheared unease

Besides giraffes, gets the last laugh
they see beyoned a sultans hubris
and measure life in full autonomy
between meekly bold or cowardly ruthless
