The sand and the sea
Too often beckoned me
The allure of the unknown
Just begging to be known
I chose to explore
Seeking mystical lore
Too soon time went by
As if in the wink of an eye
At last I came home
No longer to roam
Oh my how we’d changed
As if mystically rearranged
All gaunt and bent
No longer the young gent
A smile escaped my lips
I should have stayed off those ships
