Salty Tears Poem by Michael Oluwasegun Adesiji

Salty Tears

Agewise, It is still morning
Not yet late
But she's already late
Wholly dipped by men
In the pit of nights
The soldier gave his all
But couldn't beat death
Or reach its might.

For every time I look into the dark clouds
Her empty space and our night games
From the edge of this silent bed
Recalling them all
About those lovely days

With a salty mouth,
I ask God, Why?
But, he never answers Why!
He never answers why my
Tears became salty
And Memories; sore
Just under his watch
But, Why?
