Salute! Vietnam! Poem by Vadakkumpurath Ramesan

Salute! Vietnam!

Yea sons of Vietnam
Yea daughters of Vietnam
Yea brave children of Vietnam
Salute, red-salute!
You raise the red flag
With white star studded
In heart that echo peace
The love, brother-hood
And friendship to all!
Yea sons and daughters
Of brave Vietnam
You sang and dance
That enthrall us
That reverberate and move
The hearts of many around
Your mellifluous voice
Create ripples
On the Ganges, Jamuna
The confluence at Triveni
And the red-beaked
Swans swam to your
Tickling hearts that pour music
The music that make
The Arabian sea,
The Indian ocean,
The Bay of Bengal,
The Pacific ocean,
Kissing the South-China sea
To sang in chorus
To move steps to your
Dancing rose-red lotus feets!
Yea sons of Vietnam
Yea daughters of vietnam
You fought the imperial bolt
That poured red fire
On your dreams
And on your lives!
Yet yea children of Vietnam
You yield and surmount
The merchants of war
And you won the battle
By the untrammeled will
You inherit from him
The lodestar,
Uncle Ho!
In the battle for life and liberty
You chant his name
While in sleep and alertness
Yea sons of Vietnam
Yea daughters of Vietnam
Chant the hyme aloud
Ho-Chimin! Ho-Chimin!
The Icon of Vietnam
That no iconoclast
Even the time's harbinger
Never can break the icon
Ho-Chimin!
The brave son
Still smiles
Still gestures and guides
The beautiful children
Yea marvellous sons of Vietnam!
Yea marvellous daughters of Vietnam!
Uncle Ho smiles
Ever in your hearts!
