Salvation Poem by Luke Easter

Salvation

Exactly what is salvation?
When does it come into play?
Can I purchase it in the store?
Maybe order it online today?

Dress it up in nice clothes?
Give it a new coat of paint?
Put brand new tires on it?
Well, none of the above it ain’t.

Then what does it mean?
I should be knocking on what door?
If it’s something you’ve never seen?
How do you know if you don’t need more?

How can I be born again?
I’ve already experienced birth?
Can you help me understand?
Put a price on it, what’s it worth?

Who is this guy named Jesus?
And what did he actually do?
Are you really serious?
Without knowing me and you?

Where did you hear that story?
How can I get this book?
Sounds too good to be true,
Guess I’ll just have to take a look.

Hey, nice to see you again,
Yep, read it with my own eyes,
How could I have been so stupid?
Thanks for making me realize…

Listen, I’d love to stop and chat,
But I have an important place to be,
Class at my church before morning service,
And the Sunday school teacher is me.

Salvation is an open invitation to all,
Take time to study it please,
There is no cost it’s a free gift,
So don’t forget to R.S.V.P.
