A Strong Woman Vs. A Woman Of Strength

Rating: 4.1
A strong woman works out every day,
Pride in her appearance she portrays,
But a woman of strength kneels to pray,
Her soul in shape, God leading the way.

A strong woman claims she isn't afraid of anything,
Looking forward to challenges each day will bring,
Women of strength show courage in the midst of fear,
Declaring triumph through faith because God is near.
Strong women won't let anyone get the best of them,

I agree with Laurie in that this is an excellent writing for women in general as I also agree with Laurie and the scriptures of the bible in clarifying a woman's place in the Body of Christ. A great edifying poem and truthfully informative comment.

An epic tribute to women of strength! Thank you, Luke, for all the thought and effort you put into this. You must have such women in your life that you understand so well. Indeed, the women telling the good news are a large army (Psalm 68: 11) But as for teaching in the congregation, God has given that role to men. Notice, for example, the qualifications for an overseer all refer to men. (1 Timothy 3 and Titus1) . As a woman, I don't have any problem with that. Just like members of the body have different roles, they all contribute worthily to the whole. Thanks for your great poem, Luke!

I liked to review and recite this poem 2nd time owing to the importance the poem deserves. In each and every line of the poem the contents have a clear message to the world woman which is praiseworthy and inspirational. Woman who were gone through neglect and suppression of male dominance was sidelined for a long period but the period now passing through the transformation of freedom, equality, and justice to all through able movements from both sides male and female and getting adequate representations in different forums of administration, education, and all avenues but still to go to forward. Surely this kind of poem will make changes in the attitude in good terms of the subject and the poet's sayings that they are withstanding not by outward strong but inward strength which fascinated me as a simple reader of good poetry.

A strong woman has faith that for the journey she'll have enough, No matter how uneven the terrain or roads being rocky and rough, A woman of strength knows it's in the journey she will become strong, And the love of God is forever with her, no matter how difficult or long. .......the woman of strength becomes strong. does that make her another strong woman? i couldn't help saying that. i believe many women are a combination of the two types you write about. Difference between farther & further,1 is distance,1 is to understand, Where Motherhood is instinctive however it has to be learned by man, A woman carries a life form up to & maybe more than 9 months long, Man can't stand to be with a crying for baby 2 hours and he is strong? ...i don't get the first line of this stanza. AND check for words in incorrect order in the last fourth line. And for this very reason you will surely have to more than strong, .....have to more....where's the be? oops. Likewise, don't seek after frivols material things that only make you Strong, ...i looked up frivol and found: friv·ol 'friv?l/ verb 3rd person present: frivols 1. behave in a frivolous way. Origin More mid 19th cent.: back-formation from frivolous. Translate frivols to Use over time for: frivols i liked your use of rosa parks in the poem. i don't follow preachers, but, if i did, i'd have no problem with females doing the job as long as they were competent. thanks for sharing. and you had help from dee cheeks? :) one reason i point out mistakes in other poets' poems is that i would like to have MY mistakes pointed out so i can correct them, and i hope other poets feel the same. i hope you didn't mind!
