Salvia In The Woods Poem by Olly Rowland

Salvia In The Woods

take a hit, from this strange and foreign pipe.
take more and more till your start to feel it
'this is reality, you won’t be in it for long'
my face feels like its on fire and my eyelids are getting heavy
a wave of energy flows beneath me
its time for me to leave this place
i see a wall on the edge of everything
every blade of grass, every culminated piece of bark
every face and every breath
i smile
i hear laughter from between the dead leaves
and the dead sing to me in perfect harmonics
the grass composes and folds over and around my feet
more warmth, more fire
i'm still smiling
i try to stand but i cannot
i try to speak but my mouth refuses to move
i travel through a tunnel of colour and light
when i come out of of the other end i am stood in a field
there is a girl in a silken gown next to me and she is smiling
we dance across the field to the sound of drums
