Samuel Johnson

Having collected raindrop silt
in water off the roof,
let it settle,
poured off the water
and dried it out,
I computered,
'Is the silt in raindrops rich? '

I hoped for a samuel-johnson reply,
an s-j one,
cantankerous and poetic:
like,
in a line,
'Is powder fine? '
