Samuel Rises Poem by Richard Groom

Samuel Rises

Rating: 0.5

Portland cries
in the night
my grandson is teething
his mother's nipple

This isn't a Cape Cod
mist over Mount Hood
the clouds sing

Dew drops on Douglas
firs clinging the wind
escapes through a baby's
shining rising eyes
