Sand In My Toes Poem by maria guzvic

Sand In My Toes

I step lightly
upon the rim of the crescent shaped shoreline,
counting each grain of sand
as I go.
The blueness of the ocean
melts within the sky and
there is no beginning and no end.
The sun smiles its wicked smile,
her heat caressing my shoulders.

I fall to my knees and they each sink
painlessly, into the softness.
Each pearly pebble has your face embossed upon it,
and I think of you.
Each shell is filled with the gift of your love.
