Santa's Day Poem by Liam ó Comáin

Santa's Day

Dead silence in the district
As soft flakes paint the town;
No human tracks,
Nor milk van wheels,
Disturb the white of the ground.

'Tis six-o-clock in the morning
And the day is Christmas day,
In house by house lights flick on
As joyful children play.

There's board games and dolls,
Sweets and other toys,
Brought by Father Christmas
To expectant girls and boys.

But did you know that his name
Was really Nicholas whom we
Now call Santa Claus- a saint
Of Christianity inspired by the Holy Ghost.
