Saraband Sonnet: Root Out Corruption Poem by Dr John Celes

Saraband Sonnet: Root Out Corruption

The world today is going bad;
The poor are poorer by each day;
The heinous crimes can make all sad.

More sheep are going well astray;
More innocents are maimed and harmed;
They take the lives of ones unarmed;
Hard work is offered lesser pay.

More food is grown but people starve;
Most politicians stay so rich;
A rosy world, the liars carve.

Life's fabric needs a timely stitch;
No one will truly take the blame;
The rich will never feel the shame;
Corruption is the nasty witch!
