Saturnine Dream Effect Poem by Windsor Guadalupe Jr

Saturnine Dream Effect

The light flickers
Saving me from the dangers of the night,
Lull tranquil white

Cradle me in your arms tonight
The bed of soft embrace,
Renewing such energy with grace
Shall I find a better home,

Then this elbow room in a steady trance it is
Then the impression your body made,
Is yet untouched from all that is in my dreams,
And the lucid plane in the ethereal realm descends
Upon your face, with a breath of sleep

If you are to rest your head,
Of which comfort streams madly,
Like a river flowing endlessly,
Then I shall find recluse behind the corners of the room

The dawn breaks,
And the night churns and chokes
With the sunlight’s soft strokes
Thus your beauty blooms effortlessly

How I long for sleep,
Realizing I am in too deep,
Like a man submerged in flames,
The flare of its comfort astounds me

My eyes set its steady gaze
Upon your lovely face,
I realize how sullen I am;
Without you, a saturnine slumber this is

Inside this saturnine slumber,
I wish to hold you in a day or so,
Like the dreams I have long kept,
In these decrepit hands I wept

I long to keep you forever,
Inside this glowering slumber
If deprived, then I shall keep myself awake in nostalgia
And remember how I had you in a dream.
